Life's transitions are the birthing grounds of awakening, empowerment, and growth. The most fertile of these transitions is the birth of your child and your emergence as a mother.
We have been conditioned by society to surrender to the knowledge of others, namely the Western medical system. And in so doing, we are missing the opportunity to tune into our own intution and experience growth that can propel us to create the life we want.
I am here to hold space and support you and your partner as you go through this process.
Many doulas focus on just birth or just the postpartum days. While I can help you during those specific times, I would love to support you through the entire process. Let me be there for you from the moment you learn you are a vessel for new life through pregnancy, birth, and parenting.
What
is a Doula?
For millennia, women have been supported by the women in their lives through pregnancy, birth, and parenting. Today, many women feel incredibly alone through this process, having never observed birth. We bring forth new life while tucked away in a hospital, isolated from the emotional support systems that are so necessary during this most important of life's transitions.
Doulas emerged in the late 20th century to support birthing women. Distinct from the medical support that a midwife or doctor provides during birth, doulas support women with dissolving fear prior to birth, with comfort measures to manage the intensity of birth, and with holistic emotional care that empowers women to be transformed by birth. There are now doulas that also support women postpartum as well as those who hold space during the end of life.

We have been taught to fear the pain of birth. With this, we voluntarily give our power away to our medical providers in the hope that they can save us from suffering while they deliver our babies safely into our arms. Many of us have a neutral experience at best, a traumatic one at worst.
But birth can be more.
